Sliding Impact Windows

Horizontal sliders are the most popular impact window in Florida — and the one we install the most. They work perfectly with the ranch-style, mid-century, and contemporary homes found throughout Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties. Simple operation, excellent ventilation, and a clean sightline that lets you enjoy the view.

Available in 2-lite and 3-lite configurations with heavy-duty stainless steel rollers

Smooth horizontal operation — one or both sashes glide open for ventilation

Low-E glass options cut cooling costs and block 99% of UV rays

Custom-manufactured to fit your exact opening dimensions

Maximum Airflow

Casement & Awning Windows

When you want real airflow, casement and awning windows deliver. The full-crank opening catches cross breezes that sliders and single-hungs simply cannot match. Awning windows give you the added benefit of ventilation during a rain shower — a real advantage during Florida's afternoon storms.

Casement windows crank open outward for full top-to-bottom ventilation

Awning windows hinge at the top — keep air flowing even during light rain

Multi-point locking hardware creates an airtight seal when closed

Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms where airflow matters most

Commercial-grade operators rated for years of daily use

How It Works

Four-Layer Protection System

Impact windows are not just thicker glass. They are a multi-layer system tested to withstand a 9-pound 2x4 lumber projectile launched at 34 mph — the Miami-Dade large missile impact test. The laminated interlayer works like a car windshield: the glass may crack, but it stays in the frame and keeps wind and water out of your home.

Outer glass layer: Heat-strengthened or tempered glass absorbs the initial impact force

PVB or SGP interlayer: Holds the glass together even when cracked — the critical barrier that maintains your building envelope

Inner glass layer: Secondary pane adds structural rigidity and additional sound dampening

Aluminum frame system: Heavy-gauge aluminum with anchor points engineered for Florida wind loads

Impact Window FAQ

What is the difference between impact glass and tempered glass?

Tempered glass is four times stronger than standard glass, but it shatters into small pieces on impact. Impact glass uses a laminated interlayer that holds the glass together even when cracked — maintaining the building envelope during a hurricane. That is the critical difference.

Will impact windows qualify me for insurance discounts?

Yes. When all openings in your home are protected with Miami-Dade approved impact products, you qualify for a full opening protection credit on your wind mitigation inspection. Most homeowners see 25-45% savings on the wind portion of their insurance premium.

How long do impact windows last?

Impact windows typically last 25-30+ years. The aluminum frames are corrosion-resistant and the laminated glass does not degrade over time. Most manufacturers we carry offer lifetime limited warranties on glass and hardware.

Are impact windows custom-sized for my openings?

Every impact window we install is custom-manufactured to fit your exact opening dimensions. There are no off-the-shelf sizes. We measure every opening during your free in-home consultation and order each unit built to spec.
